285/75/17 Toyo's on my Dually

I've been pinchin pennys for a while and just got my new tires, shocks, and my leveling kit installed yesterday. I was going to go with a bigger tire, but decided to go with the 285/75/17 Toyo Open Country AT's,and I'm happy with my choice. I had bought a set of those 2" steel spacers for the rears for the bigger tires, and they would have spaced them way out from the fenders, and I already get hassled enough by DOT in my 18 wheeler so I didn't need that issue to deal with. We only had to use a 1/4" spacer between the duals for the right spacing, and they barely stick out past the edge of the fenders.

Nice truck man

I just got those exact same tires on mine today, minus two of course. They look pretty sharp, MUCH better than the stockers. My truck handles way different now; guess it has more roll in the sidewall. SOB feels like its on ice or spinning the tires now. Maybe I just need to get used to them

My neighbor got these tires & they did what your talking about. WAAAAAY loose feeling, like they were marshmellows! He took them back. I myself was going to get some but no way in hell after driving his. I can not express enough how dangerous it felt only doing 45 mph.

The tires needs to go through a few heat cycles to firm up. Should firm up in about 500 miles or so.

Marshmellows!! DANG good way to describe it! But yea, Im hoping after they get some miles theyll firm up and Ill be happy then. Just feels like the tailend wants to swap with the front going into a corner, or even if you barely move the wheel going straight

Try more/less air in them til you are happy with the ride. I have changed the PSI's in front and rear and now have 55 front and 50 rear. Seems like the more air, the stronger the sidewall.

Yeah, the second or third day after I got them I had to change lanes on the freeway fast (trash in the road) and I thought the rearend of the truck was going to pass the front. It was a weird feeling, but now they feel fine after a few miles on them.
