Guess I'll need spacers.....

Old tire were BFG 285/70/17 had a least 1/2 inch of clearance....just put on same size only these are Nitto Dura Grabbers....didn't think there would be that much difference between tires although the BFG were aired to 80 and these are at 65...won't air up until time to pull my 5th wheel.....unloaded...how long could I drive on these or is this a must fix asap?

I have seen trucks driven that way, but I wouldn't do it.

You might get away with it for a bit, but its just a matter of safety, id get some spacers ASAP just so you dont have to worry about it, especially if you're loaded down with a trailer...

Spacers go between the rear wheel and either just sit there freely or the better ones actually bolt to the inside wheel and the actual studs of the truck and then have their own studs that the outer wheel can bolt to from there. You can see some pics on ebay of some or here is a link to some better ones that alot of people I know use on their truck including me Beware of the ones on ebay though---some of those can be cheap and junk.

Yeah but supposedly those are some of the best on the market. I have seen some others on ebay a whole lot cheaper but I feel as if you get what you pay for. I have seen spacers go for even more than what is on that website I also feel that anything holding my wheels on my 1 ton truck needs to be very well made---just dont want to regret anything that could possibly happen
