BFG AT load range question

so the 305/70/17 BFG AT is load range E at 3195 lbs @ 65 psi, the 315/75/17 (my preferred larger tire choice) is load range E at 3195 lbs also, but it is at 50 psi. what is the difference here besides tire size, max psi, and max load?

should i run the slightly smaller 305's b/c they can run a higher psi and likely take weight better and allow for better mileage because it will be more stiff at 65 psi? or is the 315 tire only required to run 50psi max because it has a higher tread area to distribute the vehicle's weight?

The load rating is on max psi so a E=80psi and one tire can support 3042 lbs a load range D=65psi tire will support 2535lbs,,a load range C=50psi tire will support 1875lbs per tire.
This is a cross section on tires as the size changes the loadlbs changes.
A lower load range tire will ride better if you can get it in your size.
The 245/57/16 BFG AT only comes in a load range E so I
had no choice,,and almost all tires in that size is a E.

The 305/65/17 BFG AT KOs are E-rated but the max air pressure is 65psi. The 315/70/17 BFG AT KOs are D-rated with a max pressure of 50psi. Both tires have the same max weight rating of 3,195lbs. I got 58,000 miles out of my last set of 285/70/17 D-rated BFG AT KOs with no problems towing or hauling heavy. BFG now makes an E-rated 285/70/17 AT KO that has a max pressure of 80psi. I am currently running the E-rated 305/65/17 AT KOs. The 305s are the same height as my old 285s(spare tire is a 285) but just as wide as 315s. Here are the BFG specs:
