New Cummins dually owner & need tire advice...

Ok, as of 2 days ago I joined the Cummins family. I just picked up a 2003 DRW 4x4 and it is gonna need tires pretty soon. I want to step up to a taller tire than the 235/80/17's that are on her, but don't know what is gonna fit. What is the biggest I can go? Also, what size would ya'll recommend?

Good luck finding something taller that will work on the stock wheels and not be to wide for the rear duals.
I have been looking for the last week with no luck.
I did finally find something I am going to try to make work with the use of rear spacers.
285-75-17 load range E.
I will let you know if it works out as I ordered them today.

thanks, i have been to every tire place in my area with no luck. I don't really want to go to an extreme on height, just a little bigger. i looked at spacers, but my problem is i am in the army and live in the barraks where nobody can park, so if i don't want to go too much wider in the back otherwise i won't fit in the parking spaces. and taking up 2 spaces is a no go because the mp's here will ticket and tow you in a heart beat. well, the search will have to go on for now.

I could not find any E rated tires in that size at all anywhere.

Make sure you get a E rated tire.

I think that you are going to run into the same problems the rest of us have. If you want to run a larger than stock tire you will need a rear spacer between the rear duals at least. Some tires may require you to run a spacer on the inside dual between the inside dual and the mounting surface.
