Hankook update and swap info

As some of you may remember I posted on here weeks ago about what tire to get for my truck and there was much discussion...at any rate. I went with the Hankooks 285-70-17...very nice looking all terrain and made the truck look really cool compared to the originals. After 3 attempts to balance the Hankooks and mounting wheel weights all over the tires inside and out etc. I took them back to Discount tire and they ordered me some Nitto Dura grapplers. All I can say is that my 3500 megacab 4x4 rides like a feakin Caddy now....I cant believe the smoothness and handling these tires have. Truck still looks good because I stayed with the larger size, 285s instead of the original 265s. There is mega tread on the Dura grappler and it looks agressive as well. I will post back when I get some miles on them and I will try and get some pics posted in a day or so.

You and I are going down the same road. I also switched out my Hankooks and put on the Dura Grappler. I cannot believe how good the ride is. I have 2,000 miles on them and they are super quiet and handle great. Its unfair to compare them to an all terrain but if they wear good, I will buy them again. I am all smiles heading down the road now.

You'll have to update us in several months about tire wear on those tires.

Seems to me that the Discount tire price was around $223....give or take, cant remember for sure. By the time you do the road hazard etc. I have just over $1,000 in them, but if they were like they say they will I will be happy....I still just cant believe the ride and handling, its much better than I ever imagined.

or 35 " even ?

they look like a real nice tire, i thought
they were a bit more expensive. may
look into getting a set.

I went back down to the 265/70/17 and they were 840 out the door. Plus it comes with a 45,000 mile warranty.

Here is one. I really had to shrink this thing to get it on here. I'll try to get the others a little bigger

I probably should of swapped mine out (315-70-17s), but I've just been too busy to even take em back in to be balanced again. I had em rebalanced several times and still have some vibration.... probably too late to have em swapped since I got about 5k on em...

You'll have to let us know how those grapplers work for ya!
