can chrome be powercoated?

I want a black wheel and I see a lot of wheels I like in chrome. Can chrome be powercoated?

i would think they would ,,,cause chroming is a dipping process....maybe u can just scuff them up to paint,,,,,but i dont think that would be enough,,,,,i would think u would want the bare metal to primer then powdercoat,,,,im no powdercoater or a chromin xpert.........but i do know the purpose of powdercoatin is for chip resistance,,,,,,,like i had my harley frame powdercoated orange,,,,,,it wasnt cheap either

yes they have to sand blast the chrome at least that what they did with a set of chrome wheels i had powder coated

when i worked for a powedr coating company all we did was just blast the chrome real fast, hust to ruff it up. you dont have to take it to bare metal.
