38x15.50's on 6" lift???

i see so many trucks on here with 6" of lift and 37's. just wondering if anyone is running anything bigger with only a 6" lift...I just ordered a set of 38x15.50x20 nitto mud grapplers for my 06 quad cab, and i have a 6" tuff country lift. i know i can clear them, but was intreasted in seeing some pics of other rigs with this combo.

6" tuff county lift will not clear them with out cutting inside fenders out of the front fender wells, however get a little coil spacer and it will clear the tires and wheels no prob...heres my 05' titan next to my 06' 2500 with 6" super lift with coil spacers and 38"15.50"20r claws with 20x10 black rockstars...lets just say the fender flares and inside fender took a beating from those tires because i didnt cut em out..

when you say coil spacer, do you mean just a leveling kit? Did you have to get longer shocks? What about the trackbar? I've been wanting to do this, but advised by Superlift that it would cause bad geometry and driveline angles.

yea, a "leveling kit" is a coil spacer. i ran a 2.5" coil spacer
the shocks i ran were bilstien 5150s from the 6" superlift kit. and i had the dual shock mount essentially giving me 3 shocks.
i did not do anything different to the suspension, just 6" super lift kit with the coil spacer
as for superlift saying the geometry and drive angles being off, they are correct the geometry and drive angles would be not what the were intended for but the extra added lift will not hurt it, it will perform just fine

it rode like a truck, it was not a horrible ride, but it wasnt like riding on a kelderman air ride kit or my buddies 8" spirson offroad kit...

and the mpg didnt change much, but the truck had around 650hp and just at around 1000lb ft tq

a 1" coil spacer wouldnt do much or effect the ride at all, but with just a 1" coil spacer you will not enough lift out of the front end to run the wheels and tires i had, maybe with a different offset of wheels a 1" coil spacer would be fine with minimal trimming of the fenders..

I don't think you will fit them without ripping off a fender. The height isn't the prob., the width is. You see what I have on mine and it almost will rub. They are 14'' wide but not as tall(about 35.50). I don't remember my backspacing.
38'' tires will look incredible......as long as your driving in a straight line!! good luck.

There are several places that offer spacers. There are a couple of companies that make them that are advertised in the back of Diesel Power magazne. Also found these ones on ebay.

eBay Motors: BILLET ALUMINUM WHEEL SPACER 8 Lug Superduty 1/2" (item 110358748243 end time Mar-09-09 12:54:21 PDT)
