Well the 6" lift with short arms changes the geometry on your arms and driveline, but not extreme. Now if I add the 2.5" spacer that's sitting on the floor beside me, I'll prob have to do some sort of long arm. As for now I'm actually ok with what I've got. As far as fuel mileage goes, I don't have any concrete numbers because I just haven't really got to run a tank through and hand calculate yet. And, as we all know the overhead is inaccurate. Plus, I dont know how far my odometer is off. I can tell you this, with my edge set appropriately for your
"load/terrain/wind etc" to keep from downshifting, 38" tires, and 3.73's its getting pretty darn good as far as I can tell because of the way low RPM's at higher speeds. I would imagine that if your truck can handle the heat like mine can, the fuel mileage with my setup could actually end up being very reasonable. Conservatively, I'm guessing somewhere around 15 mpg unloaded, if not more, on fairly flat highway. Another possibility could be runnin mine in 5th gear at a little slower speeds might even yield higher mpg's.
