pro comp xtreme a\t or Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ

I think I have narrowed my tire search down to these 2 tires (pro comp xtreme a\t or Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ)but can't really decide on which one. I have a stock 07 quad cab 4X4 with no level kit. I am planning on buying the 35x12.5x17 and from what I read they both will fit with slight rub on the control arm? Anyone have thoughts on this setup/tire? I prefer to not get a level kit but if you think it is better I can. Thanks

I just did not want to spend the extra $$ for the level kit. Anyone have pics of with and w/o level on 35's?

It really depends on what you use your truck for. Do you wheel often? If so, through what?

I have about 18,000 miles on my 35 Pro Comp X A/T's. I will not buy them again. Mine are D rated. The rubber is too soft, and chunk off easily in any terrain. I have been through Texas mud, Arizona desert, and Minnesota snow, and it does not perform well in any of the three, they could not get me unstuck in the snow, they could not hardly move me in the bud, and they chunked off alot in the desert. The only thing I can say good about them, is the sidewall is strong. I have a cut on my sidewall from the edge of a brick, and 6,000 miles later, I don't have a problem.

They do not keep traction very well in any situation, especially wet asphalt.

They hum pretty good at highway speeds, loud enough that you have to turn up the music a little more to drown it out.

Alot of people will chime in saying all these great things about it, but take if from me dude, they suck.

If you do end up getting them, get them in E rated. Not D.

I am sure it is a great tire, but not for the weight of a Cummins.
Hopefully someone will chime in with some info on the Mickey Thompson tires. With a name like "Baja ATZ," They better perform well in the sand and dirt.

I am holding out for a review on the General Tire Competition tire that is supposed to release this summer.

thanks for the review on the tire. I will do 90% highway/city but when I go hunting etc I do have to go through mud, wet fields etc and wanted something with some traction. I got stuck 2 weeks ago with the stockers and it was apin in the a$$. I don't go off road intentionally just end up there sometimes. I like the look of alittle more aggressive tread design on the pro comp extreme a/t compared to other all terrain tires.

As far as the level kit goes I know I can get spacers for a little over 100 but I heard you have to get longer shocks etc.. I really didn't want to mess with the suspension or anyhting that could lead to death wobble.

I have the Pro Comp extreme A/T on my DMAX and I love them. I just bought my 2nd set... I got approx. 43K towing miles out of my first set. They are great in the snow and rain.. and they hook like crazy on dry road.. I give them a

I'm trying to pick a tire also..., these 2 tires are on my short list. I'm kind of similar WRT to use as you are... I own the truck to haul and to to a heavier trailer, but the fact is that my truck does tend to see a bit of regular off road, not much of "lets go wheeling" but legit having to move something/get somewhere that could be way off of anything resembling a road, often involving mud up to the axles, a couple of feet of snow and even fairly rough terrain, and often heavily loaded.

Az2500Cummins08 - I appreciate the fact that you gave some details about what you like/don't like about them, do you have a tire in that class that you like?

Anybody else replying, it would be nice if you said what you liked/don't like about them.
