Right around 1.5". Most guys run a 2" space to clear these I have read a few posts where some guys have ran a 1/4" or 3/8" but they have all said that the tires are way to close.

If u put two inch spacers on 285's, your truck will look retarded with that much space, I've seen it, looks bad. I know of 3 trucks in town right now running 285's on 3rd gens and they run a half inch of space and they never rub what so ever.

I am running 285's on mine and only a 1/4" spacer in the rear with no problems. When towing a run max pressure and have no signs of them touching. I will take some pictures and post them later tonight.

ok well i went to ntb today to put 285 70 17 and they dont fit , i had 1/2 inch spacers i bought like a year ago and with them on you cant tighten up the lugs ,with out the the tires touch when the trucks on the ground , this may be do to the fact i have egale alloys on the truck witch really pisses me off , then i called the local 4 wheel parts and they wanted to sell me the 2inch spacers i didnt want that wide because i think it will look stupid and they told me it would be $829.00 for 2 fu***** spacers , well being upset with the whole deal i got the mic AT2s 265 70 17s,and im very unhappy because i spent $1300 and i hate the way they look im thinking of going back tomorrow and trying to figure something else out i wonder if a 1/4 will work but i dont know if they will let me take them back

Thats odd. One of the boys from town that runs them with a half inch of space is running them on eagles.

Post up some pics. I want to run 285's on my dually but I agree a 2" spacer doesn't look so good with 285's. What brand of tire you running and what is the LR?
