Wheels will not fit?

I have a 99 Dodge Ram 2500 heavy duty 4x4 diesel with the factory 16 inch chrome rims. I purchased a set of the factory 16 inch aluminum wheels from a 2001 model Ram thinking they would fit. The local tire dealer says they will not go over the rear brake hubs. Do I have to find wheels from a heavy duty truck or ?

You need to find a wheel that has a higher offset, they way they won't get in the way of the drums

Have you tried them yourself because there are plenty of trucks running those rims...

Wheels that will not fit

Thanks for the reply(s). I will try putting them on myself, if that does not work I will look at other options. I have seen these wheels on numerous other dodge trucks, and I would like to stay with the 'factory' look. This is my first cummins and I am lovin it...........still got a lot to learn, again thanks.

I had to do this on a buddys truck. We had to grind down the drums a little and took a little off the rims also. On the front you have to grind a little off of the corner of the tie rod bracket to make the fronts fit. I sux but can be done.
