speedometer recalibration

Does anybody know if I can recalibrate my speedometer with my buddies smarty and it not delete when the smarty is removed?

I always wondered the same thing...

I seriously doubt it will work that way. Removal of the Smarty programming would remove the tire calibration.

It should work, I know you can use it to read and clear codes on another truck. When you change the tire size you don't actually down load a program.

I tried doing it with a buddys smarty with it still programmed to his truck and it would not let me do it saying it was VIN locked, so we took it off his truck and put it on mine and it will not let you change tire size without a catcher tune installed, so what i figure is if you programmed it to your truck, and set the new tire size and then set it back to stock and maybe it would still be set. worst case senario would be that it clears that too but it will enable high idle so its not a total loss

I stand corrected!!! According to the website the abs section IS VIN locked! You can only read codes without it being vin locked. Sorry for the misinformation.
