I am close to new tires
I have 40k on my stock BFG tires. I want to put 305 or 285/70/17's. I have been planing on Nitto tera's. Some post I read say they are good and last and some say there shot in 20k. I drive 40k a year and really don't want to buy tires twice a year. So do the Nitto last or not and what would be best 285 or 305 size. I like them becuse and I can get them in (E) rating. Also how will they affect my milage. I just orderd a hypertech tuner so I hope is helps some. Thanks for the input.

My last set of 285/70/17D BFG AT KOs lasted 58K. I ran them at 65psi and rotated every 7500. I now have 305/65/17E BFG AT KOs. The 305s were $30 more per tire than new 285s. I like the wider tread on the 305s and they have a stiffer construction than the 285s.
