37x13.50-20 Toyo Open Country MT or Nitto Mud Grapplers?
I'm looking to buy 20 with 37s but can't decide on which tire to go with. I've read the Nittos tend to wear a little faster and are louder on the road. Nittos look like a mean tire, but the Toyos ain't bad either. I don't do too much heavy haulin' nor have any chips (just yet). These won't be used for any muddin' or deep snow either, so my big question is the wear rate. Either way, the package deal is about $2500. Just wonderin' if anyone has experience with either. Also, would the bushwacker pocket flares cover up the tread on this setup? (damn PA laws anyways) Thanks! |

I love my Mud Grappers. They are mean looking and that's why I bougt them. The toyos will last longer since they are less aggressive. Pocket flares give 2.5"s of coverage. It depends on what wheel offset you get. I personally hate the pockets. I think that they are tacky and cheesy with their fake plastic bolts.JMO

The Toyo M/Ts are definitely going to last longer, and are a much better made tire. The Mud Grapplers look mean, but I know a few people that were very disappointed with their performance. If you want your Pocket Flares to cover up your tread, the offset of the wheel is going to determine that. Good luck on getting it sorted out, and look forward to seeing some pics of the wheels on the truck. Skin, I have the Pocket Flares, and they aren't plastic bolts....they are metal bud. ![]()

I'm gonna go ahead and order some Toyo M/Ts. I will have about 2.3" stickin' out so Pocket Flares are perfect. Will 13.5 width be OK with a 6" Tuff Country lift? They advertise for up to 12.5 with that lift.

I would personally go with the mud grapplers because ive seen both in action and the mud grapplers definately out performed the toyo's and ive seen over 50k miles on them several times and an old guy i know got 80k on his power wagon but iono how many miles the toyos will get. Also they are loud but its a sound i love so i know its never bothered me.

I ordered up the 37 toyos, since they were only about $400 each with the package deal. Although I do like the looks of the mud grapplers and kuhmo m/ts. Kuhmos had a 99k warranty - interestingly enough, but didn't hear as good of reviews as the toyos, for treadwear
