Can somebody assist me on tires, rims, and a lift?

I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 4WD with a 6.7 Cummins. I am wanting to put on 35's on the truck but I am illiterate when it comes to tires, rims, and lifts. I have factory 17in tires now. Here are some questions hopefully someone can help me with. Thanks for any help you offer.

1. If I go to 35's, what size rim should I go up to also?

2. In order to put 35's on, how much of a lift will I need?

3. On rims, do I need some kind of offset in my rims to keep the tires from rubbing?

4. What is the best type of lift for my truck?

5. What is the best tire at the best price? I am looking for a good looking, not to aggressive mud tire.

6. How much am I looking at spending, say if I lift it 4" and up my rims to maybe 18in rims.

Thanks guys!!

We can help you with a few of these questions.

1. Choose the rim diameter you prefer. Smaller sizes are usually cheaper. Tires for smaller sized rims are also usually more affordable. It comes down to personal choice for looks and how much you want to spend.

2. 4-5" will clear 35" tires. If you don't mind modifying your fenders you may be able to get them to clear with less. Read, read, read here. There are a lot of guys running 35" tires with different lift and suspension set ups here. There are expensive and inexpensive ways to do it.

3. Not sure. Strong opinions will usually will be stated for this one. I couldn't tell you.

4. Best tire for the best price will depend on the size and tread design. I would suggest searching for a tire that fits your needs first then shop around for the best price. If we carry the tire you are looking for, we will guarantee the lowest delivered price. When it comes to MT tires and your heavy truck, less expensive MT's tend to wear quick. The Km2 is a fantastic tire, it is one of the, you get what you pay for tires though. Also, Goodyear just released a few new tires you may be interested in as well. The DuraTrac and the new MTR with Kevlar. Look at those two as well.

5. Still to many options for me to guess how much you are going to spend. You can get an idea of what you will spend on tires and wheels at
www.discounttiredirect.com. Enter your year, make and model and select 5" lift. This will narrow the products that our website displays to lifted 35" tires and correctly offset wheels.

Hope this helps you get started. Please let us know if we can help more. For a faster reply please call us. 1.888.459.4080. Anyone here will be happy to help.
