Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's, Toyo Open Country MT's

Need some new tires for my new to me '07 2500 megacab.
It has a leveling kit on it right now, but I'm probably going to remove the front pucks, and the drop the rear to match by removing the factory blocks under the rear leafs.

Currently clears BFG AT 315/70/17's on stock rims.
I'd like to go with the Baja MTZ's since I can get them in a 315/70, but I haven't seen how well they last underneath heavy trucks like ours.
The Open Country MT's have a good rep from the people I've spoken to, and from what I've read on here. However, I'd have to step down to a 295/70 if I go with them since the next size up is a true 35.
Since I plan to lower it some, the Toyos are probably a wiser decision, but I like the Baja's looks better, and would really like to run the bigger tire if it will clear.

I suppose I should lower it and see if the BFG 315's still clear before I make my decision.

So, I guess my question is if the 315's clear, how well do the Baja MTZ's wear on a diesel truck.
Any opinions, speculations on what will fit once I lower the truck are welcome also. Thanks.

Anybody got info on the longevity of the MTZ's?
I was informed by my dealer today that I need to be running an E rated tire, rather than a D rated tire like the MTZ or the BFG AT that's on there now. Says that the 50 psi D tire's sidewalls are flexible enough to cause the shake I described, and that I needed to run the E tires for their 65 psi rating and stiffer sidewalls. He tells me this 6 hours after I've ordered a set of the 315 MTZ's, 5:30 PM, no time to cancel the order before shipping.
I had the truck in there with a very detailed list of what I found worn out under the front, tierod ends, trackbar bushings, etc. This was after their presale "inspection" after my test ride when I complained about it pulling right and death wobble. Long story short, they are replacing the drag link and tierod, as well as the track bar with upgraded items on a recall. His tone as he told me about the tire rating inferred that if I didn't swap out to an E rated tire, that was going to be his reason to deny my warranty if I brought it in again.
How well do the MTZ's perform under our trucks? I get the feeling I should have stuck with the 295 Toyo MT's.

I had the bfg at's and no problems with driving or wobble and now i have mtz's.... Awesome tire i think and i have no issues with ride or steering quality... MTZ need to be rotated every 3k and the life will last you some good mileage... my buddy has 22k or so on his and they are well above half tread still but he rotates them every 3k miles and this is what i am doing and have about 4k miles on mine now.. Me and buddy have the 315 70 mtz's and they look sick!!! I dont think i will every change to a different tire.. I had it in some deep snow and awesome bite specially compared to my at bfgs...

you can only run the 315 on stock height or higher but you can just drop the rear and roll the 315's still.

I'm really tempted to get the 35x12.5/17 Toyo's now since they have the E rating. They are only a 1/4" taller according to specs, same overall width as the 315 BFG's I'm running now. But their tread looks wider? Their side lugs might get into the control arms sooner I think.
