14.5" wide tire on 9" wide rim?

Hey guys I have 17X9 Moto metal 951 rims with 4.5 backspace. I am wanting to put 38.5x14.5x17 Pro Comp extreme all terrain tires on the truck in my sig. Can the 14.5" wide tire be mounted on the 9" wide rim with out any problems. Would the tire wear in the middle faster than if I went with a 37x13.5x17. I really dont want to get new rims but I would love to get the 38.5's. Thanks for the help

Do your tires ware faster in the center? Or are you running lower tire pressure so that does not happen? I see you are running 40's. Do your tires rub and do you think mine would rub at full lock if I got the 38.5 with 8.5 inches of lift?By the way man your truck is sick! I love the all blacked out look. Thanks for the help
