my 2 cents

For your application & climate I would sugest Toyo Open Country AT. If you plan on running gravel roads go with the Toyo M-55.

What about Toyo M/T? They will last longer than any of those. The Kumho is a close second. That's my opinion.

I would love to run MT's. It's just my truck is a complete street queen...might see something off the pavement on occasion. I really like the looks of the Kumho MT. But, it just comes down to it not being practical. Now, if they'd last about 40k miles then I think I might be able to talk myself into the Kumho MT's.

I like these too. Just seem to have mixed reviews as to how long they'll last. Some people say 25k max and some people say 50k. The Terra Grapplers I had just barely managed about 35k out of them...I want something that will last a bit longer than that. I could understand if they would have been MT's but, to me, that's not enough mileage out of an AT. Also, the M-55's...I'd love to go that route if they made them in a 285.

I have had good luck with Firestone Transforce. You can get them in an H/T or A/T.Both are quiet, wear really good, and are priced right.I have the H/T's and 3 of my friends have the A/T's.Check them out!!

I think the BFG A/T is the best tire for tread life and they sit wide too. I'm just going with the MT ATZ because it either that or the Dick Cepek in the size I want.

I know I'm a noob on here and not to thread jack but what about Mastercraft Courser C/T tires? They have a load range up to 3,195 lbs and the tread is semi aggressive too.

I have the Michelin LTX AT2. I had them on one truck for 32,000 miles and I moved them over to my new truck and have gone another 11,000 miles. They still look new. The only bad thing is they do pick up small rocks if you go off road.

How much do you think you'll end up getting out of them? In your opinion are they worth the money or are they just on par with something that you get for less $$$ and would look a little more aggressive?

I bet I will get 60 70k out of these tires. I have had BFG, Toyo, Nitto and MT and these are the best for hwy. I have been in mud and sand with no problem. Let me also tell you I LOST about 1mpg with these tires which I think is do to Rolling Resistence.
