Shipping Tires...

I have no clue on how to go about this, aside from going to ups or fed ex and getting a price.. my question is really is there any other way to ship tires? any cheap ways that people usually do? i am buying a set of 36x14.50x16.5 mickey thompson baja belted with rims and some fender flares in Ft leonard Wood, MO and am wanting to find out how much it would cost to ship them to Middletown, DE. any help would be appreciated. thanx

I shipped four stock aluminum Dodge rims wrapped in 285-70-17 Toyo AT's w/hubcaps. I cut cardboard to size on the polished side and taped it to the tires. Next using a roll of shrinkwrap from Rhino Liners or wherever,I cocooned the entire thing, labeling the unit on the cardboard inside. Fedex shipped four units of 80# ea.from San Diego to Ct for $210 total. It's higher now as the huge drop in fuel necessitated a rate increase.
