35x14.50s?

Was wondering if anyone out there has fitted any 35x14.50x15s on their 2nd gen with just a leveling kit?

A buddy of mine has some 35x14.50 Interco Thornbirds I am seriously considering pickin up, since he'll let em go for $500. They probably won't be for everyday use, just for trips to the mud pit. And I planned on picking up a set of wide steelies to mount them on. Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on this?

I dont have an answer to this, but just as an FYI thornbirds are the worst tire ever created, they wont do you much good in the mud pit. so put that into consideration before you spend $500 on tires

the width is gonna be a killer and do some pretty good rubbing...and i would really, really consider a different tire...you will get pretty much no life out of them, they are loud as heck, and the offroad performance is not gonna be what you would think...i would keep looking...craigslist got me a set of 4 pro comp xtreme at's w/ 50% tread and a brand new one (35x12.5x17) for $360...id really reconsider...

That's wild, the way I've heard talk about em was that they were supposed to be quiet, and they at least look like they would pull pretty good.

Guess I'll just get some 33x12.50s, was leaning towards the BFG KM2s. That'll happen eventually, I guess.

you'll be fine with a 35x12.5....that 14.5 is gonna be the problem...go ahead and try them if ya want...sounds like a good deal but i think you might be dissapointed...

Also, you'll need at least a 16" wheel to get it to fit over the brake calipers...you mentioned 35x14.5x15's. Third Gens would need 17's... and don't waste your money on Thornbird's. They're just for looks, and horrible offroad. The lugs are too close together and clog up. Not sure why Interco even made that tire...waste of rubber IMO

Thornturds SUCK............I can't stress that enough. I had a set of 35x14.50's on a 97 reg. cab shortbed halfton. They drove like crap, handled like crap, were noisier than my Boggers, sucked in mud (I mean from wet grass to 2ft deep, I tried it all), wore like crap, and just all around sucked. God I hate them tires and can't stress it enough!! Don't buy them. I traded mine to a guy (retard thought they'd be cool and let him believe it!) for a set of 35x15.50 TSL/SX's and it was like driving a new truck. No joke. Just don't buy them. They are the most worthless tire ever made. Nothing but a "show and blow" tire.
