What is the best balancing bead?

I just put some 315/75/16 tires on my truck and am having trouble getting them to balance. They shake at around 40-45 mph and then again above 60 mph. The shaking is intermittent, but I think beads can fix my problem (chime in here if I'm wrong).

I have seen Equal, Counteract, and Dyna Beads. What do you guys use? Pros, Cons, etc. Price? I can only find prices for Dyna Beads, how much are Equal and Counteract?

Thanks,
John

Can't really help you on the beads, as I now use Centramatics instead (had too many issues with the various brands of beads). Here's a free bump though.

I looked at the centramatics until I saw the price. If I had the money to spend, it looks like they might be worth it, unfortunately I'm close to broke.

I forgot to add, I want something that I can do myself through the valve stem without breaking the tires down.

Now I'm curious. I looked up the centramatics and it appears as if they would be seen through the rims. Is this correct? I bought the rims I did for the ease of clean out and anything that would interfere would not be acceptable to me.

I am afraid you are correct.

I have a set of 36" Swamper SXs on the Jeep and the Centramatics didn't do anything. I now have them balanced with Airsoft BBs and don't have any issues. That's also the cheapest route.

How many did you use? Are they small enough to fit through valve stem? I thought they were a bit too large for that?

I don't know if you can find one anymore but years ago we balanced tires on the truck. That was before computer balancing got popular. Also if you had a tire that was out of round you could shave a bit off right there to round it up.

Airsoft BB's huh?? wonder how they will hold up? Do you remember how much you used? Im looking at the Dynabeads right now for my 37" Toyo's. They say to use 12 oz per tire
