Unhappy lightest tire and wheel combo

Anyone know of the lightest tire and wheel combo in the 35" range?
I currently have 32" diameter load range E all terrains on a 17" steel rim.
I would like to go up in diameter to drop my rpm's but i do not want to sacrifice power and fuel mileage. Would it make sense to find the largest forged aluminum rim and say a 22" and throw some load range e 35's on????
I do not want to sacrifice load capacity but also do not want to break the bank. Is an aluminum alloy rim just as light as forged??

i'm not sure if they make a heavy load range tire for 22's. Very Interesting.

gotta run at least a 17 on a 3rd gen... just use the stock aluminum ones pretty light to me.. maybe mitchalins would be light and have hard tread so they dont wear or cause to much friction? just a thought though or a street tire simmular to it

Michelin LT-X AS are good over the road tires and are quite light and wear extremely well. Narrower smooth tires get much better mileage than taller more aggressive tires. I just went from 35" BFG AT's down to 31.5" GY silent armors and picked up 4mpg on the highway and 5mpg towing.

The newer Fords and possibly chevy and dodge, come with 20" wheels with a load range E... It might take a little research... how heavy are the semi 19.5" wheel and tire?

Depends on your axle ratio though, i have 3.55's which really only work well on stock sized tires. If you have 4.10's your free to use taller tires without such a severe hit in power and towing ability.

I have the numbers written down somewhere but from memory I think it was something like 95 lbs for the stock steel(chrome clad) and 285/70/17 BFG AT and about 87 lbs for a stock alloy and 315/70/17 Mickey Thompson M/T......if you are really interested I'm sure I can find the exact weights.

That seems a little heavy. I guess that must be for all four rims.
