285/70/17 verses 265/70/17

What will 285/70/17's do to mpg with a highway or mild at tire? 05 3500 srw ctd 4x4 auto tranny and 410 gears.

With 4.10 gears you won't notice any change. Bet the bigger tire.

a 285/70/17 is a 35 inch tire right? would it fit on stock rims?

My 315's are less than 34". But they are getting close to needing to be replaced (about 6 mos. ago)

I just ordered some 285/70/17's and I believe that they are 33" OD according to BFGoodrich Tires | Mud-Terrain? T/AŽ KM2 | Tire Sizes & Specs
