new tires needed shortly

Well the stock long trails on my srw 3500 4x4 are about gone at 42000. Most of my miles are highway , but I do get off road a good bit. I do haul heavy at times and tow 16000 lbs. ocassionaly.

With tires costing what they do today tread wear is a big concern. 20-25000 miles just doesn't cut it when tires cost 800 - 1000 a set. I will be going with 265/70/17 E.

I've looked at the toyo open country and nitto TG . The lack of tread wear reported by many kind turned me off these.

I considered the toyo m55's , but many reported they were pretty noisy . I don't like that either.

Bfg TA's have never given me anything over 30000.

I'm looking at the revo's and the LTX AT2's. Anyone running either of these?

Michelins won't hold on a wet road. Try Firestone Transforce AT's.

Try Nitto Dura Grapplers, I think will be a good tire for you. Nitto Dura Grappler Review [Diesel World Mag] Here is their websit. Their 10plys in the site which is closest to the size you want are 245/70-17E and 285/70-17E. Nitto Tire - High Performance Tires for Car and Truck Enthusiasts

Michelin ltx m/s would be the best tire for you, smoothest ride and longest lasting

Fairchase... where ya located and would you be interested in a 'gently' used set of LTX A/S Michelins? I've got an '06 Mega 4x4 w/ 31k highway miles on a set of A/S's that still have 12 of the original 15/32's left on them. Very, very little towing. They are the LT265/70R17/E's. They ride wonderfully and as you can see from the miles on them and what's left in tread, they'll last a long, long time. I'm wanting to upgrade to a taller white letter tire for my ride... probably the 285/70-17 AT/2's. I'm Southwest of Atlanta. Drop a line to my email if you're interested. jlacobb3@numail.org.

From what I can find the Revos are going to give better off road traction, and the LTX AT2's are going to last longer. Does this go along with what most others have seen?

I do need something that offers a little better traction than the stock long trails!
