I'm torn between two tires: BFG AT KO's or Nitto Terra Grapplers.
I want to go to a 285/70 or 75/17. I need to stay with an E load range because of the pin weight on my fiver. That size in the BFG is only D rated, but I can get an E rated in that size with the Nitto's.
In order to go with the BFG in an E rating, I need to stay at the stock size of 265/70/17.
If you want life, stay with the BFG's if you want looks snag a set of Terra Grapplers.
Why is it that one person says they can get 40-50 thousand out of a set of Nitto's, and another says they only got 20,000? I know everyone has their own driving style, but the reviews on this tire are all over the board.
The 285/75/17 is about 3/4 of an in narrower but about 1 in taller than the 305/65/17. I never liked the bfg's because they catch every little pebble on the road.

In the past, the Terra Grapplers had really bad tread flex, which caused the tread to wear extremely fast, especially on heavy duty trucks. I know a guy who only got 9K out of a set on his 2500. Nitto has since corrected this problem with coupling joints that connect the lugs together and reduce tread flex. Most people will get 40K out of their Terra Grapplers.

I hope this helps.
That explains why most of the older reviews (06-07) were terrible, and most of the (07-08) reviews are good.
