Forged Wheels

I'm looking for a good forged wheel for my 07.5 in an 18" or 20'' with the proper backspacing. I would really like them in black as well. Any suggestions? it seems like all the wheel companies are going towards cast wheels. Is there really a big benefit in going with a forged wheel in terms of weight and durability?

I don't think I have come across forged wheels that were black. They are mostly polished or chrome plated because the wheel is like a piece of art. I cancelled my order on some 20x12 KMC Diesels(cast) and ordered a set of Ion Forged Terminators 20x12 with 4.5" back spacing. They don't have black wheels but they are forged. ION FORGED

Yeah those terminators are sick! Do you know the weight of those 20's?

I went from 315/70/17 BG AT on stock wheels to 42lb KMC wheels and 80lb toyo tires. the weight difference was really noticable in acceleration and MPG in the city. I'd like to lighten things up a bit.

Weld Method Black, if you can still find some. Also look into Raceline Renegade 8 Black. Both of these are forged black wheels.

I tried getting some Welds but since they are changing hands I can't get any up here. I see some Welds on eBay but they only ship in the US so that didn't help me.

I am not sure of the weight of the forged ION's but they are lighter and stronger for sure then cast wheels.

I have the centerline forged series wheels and they are great, they stay clean easy to polish, and they are extremly strong, kinda like welds, mine are made from a solid peice of billet! Not to sure if they come in black, they have a whole lineup of their forged series, check out ther website!

the raceline renegade 20x8.5 w/ 5.25 bs is my number one choice right now. I really like the predators but they dont come in black. Are all receline wheels forged? i didnt see any mention of the renegade 8 lugs being forged.

I wish weld wheels were still easy to get. the meathods in black would be my number one choice. I had a set of welds on my superduty and i loved those wheels.

Yes, I believe the renegades are forged, but you might want to check with them to verify. I have had Raceline 20x8.5 w 5.25 bs on my truck for 3 years now, no problems and the chrome still looks great (RACELINE FORGED is stamped in the wheel face, so I know mine are forged).

Raceline info:

Weld Method on ebay with 6" bs:
eBay Motors: WELD RACING METHOD 20x8.5 8x6.5 CHEVY GM WHEELS WHEEL (item 250336363208 end time Dec-12-08 16:14:15 PST)

talked to raceline. Most of their wheels are now cast yet they do still have a 3400# weight rating. they still make forged wheels but not in all the styles on their website. the forged wheels are noted in the description of the wheel.

If i go with a cast wheel i think i might do the walker evans. I've never been a big fan of the fake beadlocks but i really like the style of the wheel and they will powdercoat them black.

I think if you looked around a bit, you could find more Weld Method Black wheels in the 6" BS. I'd go that route before purchasing a cast wheel.
