Need help selecting tires - want a larger than stock tire but

don't want to sacrifice towing or streetability. I'm currently looking at BFG AT KOs in these two sizes (1) 305-65-17-E and (2) 315-70-17-D. Questions are:

Will the 305s be a big enough change in size from the stockers(which are BFG ATs 265-70-17-Es, like these for ride quality)? Want a larger tire, stockers look too small.

Do I need the E rating for the load on a 2500? I'll be towing a ~12-13K/lb trailer at some point and want to know if the D rating will suffice. Tongue weight will stay at ~2K/lbs max.

Will I have problems on the TPMS with the D rating(max psi=50 on these)?

Will the 315s be too wide for stock fenders? Don't want to throw rocks all the time. I live in SC so snow driving won't be a problem. Hwy and gravel road for the most part on the usage for these.

I plan on installing either KORE HP or similar spring leveling kit with Bilsteins at all four corners soon. Tires will be purchased around the same time.

Any help appreciated.

Personally if you're going to be towing up to 13k lbs I would go with something smaller like a 285/70/17 and in a E rating.

Exactly... which limits you to only a few tires.. I think Hankook makes one, as well as Toyo.

I just put a set of 305/60/18's on my truck, which is pretty close to the same as 305/65/17's. They definitely have a bigger look than stock, especially in width but just a little taller.

I'd consider the Toyo AT's or Nitto Dura Grappler in 285-75-17 size. They are E-rated.

Thanks for all the feedback folks. I think the 305/65/17 is about as large as I'll go then. I haven't really found a wheel I have to have so I'll keep the stockers, not a big fan of the Laramie chrome skins but... they are easy to clean at least. Makes things easier on the TPMS stuff anyway. I'll have to start greasing the skids with my service center to recalibrate the speedo. They are not the easiest to work with mods on.

Good points from all the posts. Appreciate the help.

I'm runnin the BFG AT/KO 315/70/17 on my 04 and had no problems till the Kore recon upgrade. If your gonna do the Kore suspension, get a thuren or simular adjustable track bar and longer control arms (I went with Carli). For some reason I've found that if the front coil springs are not plum or completely vertical the BFG's will have to much bounce/give in the sidewall after break in and death wobble will occur. However, I hauled 1.93 ton of gravel in my bed so I'm sure I didn't help the tires any. Personally I won't put another set of BFG's on my truck. However, their are those that swear by them? By the way, the 315's did throw rocks up the side of the truck till I installed the dodge mud flaps.

Oh hey in diesel power they put 305/60-18s? Dura grapplers on that black 08 that are E-rated and give you an idea of what they will look like.
