P 2262 code for the sixth time with origional turbo.

I have had the P2262 code on my 6.7 liter cummins for about the last 1000 miles. its gone on and off six times. Truck still runs fine. Is it a faulty sensor or is the turbo going to crap out soon?
PS. I havent had it cleaned or replaced.
That doesn't work anyway.
7500 miles on truck

No it just comes on when the turbo gets coated with soot. If you keep running it and run it hard it will blow it out and the light will go back off. I've been doing for the last 7-8k miles. Every time my light comes on it is directly related to soot build up in the EGR & Exhaust systems. I'm just trying to scrap up money to delete it to stop the problems.

Pretty much. I had them replace mine on my second trip. No problems since then. Just run the E.B. and give it some foot on the highway to clean it out if your not gonna do the deletes.

Theory of Operation

The variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) is electronically activated by the Electronic turbo actuator. The Electronic turbo actuator is a smart device and receives information via the J1939 datalink from the ECM. The Electronic turbo actuator performs its own diagnostics and reports failures back to the ECM using the J1939 datalink. The ECM then decodes the error message and converts it to a fault code. The ECM lights the MIL lamp immediately after the diagnostic runs and fails. The ECM will turn off the MIL lamp immediately after this diagnostic runs and passes in 4 consecutive drive cycles.

Set Condition:
The VGT sliding nozzle is slow to move or is unable to move to the fully closed position at initial key-on. The physical limits of the VGT sliding nozzle have been found to be greater than or less than 100%.
