Auto and Smarty Jr.

I just bought my truck a month ago. It is automatic and stock. I was looking at getting a smarty jr. but didn't know if i would be safe putting it on without other upgrades. What should I do so that I do not ruin my tranny. The guy at Hot Rod Diesels told me I could run it without anything, but I would rather hear from you all who drive your Cummins on a daily basis. Thanks.

I have customers running only the Smarty Jr with no supporting mods. If you need to contact them personally just let me know.

Let me know if you need any help.

the guy at Hot Rod Diesels....

Your trans won't like any extra power. Some people can run programmers on lower levels and never have a trans problem, but then again theres lots of people have their 48re fall apart with stock power. ex....my 05 dodge was bone stock for 30,000 miles. 3rd gear clutches were burned up from towing at 30k.

If you do get a programmer, be careful with your driving style. With any extra power, your trans is a time bomb. It may die today or 3 years from now.
