anyone had any luck with running a programmer and not having any issues with the transmission? I know its always good to replace the stock with stronger components, but dont really feel like dropping $3000+ right now to build a decent transmission.

if your smart about it you can get away with it. the 48re is designed to handle power from the STOCK 5.9. no more.

if u run a programmer, keep it low. i.e. i kept my smarty on sw#3 until i had full billet. good luck.

hollie, who did your arson kit? and why does it take you ppl so long to run thru programmers to come to the realization that smarty is the way to go? ha

Hollie? I assume your talking to me, but its Halston, and I got it from Shane at Wicked Diesels!

I had no problem with my TST I just wanted more low end power and when I put my arson kit on it helped alot...the ONLY reason I got a smarty was cause I wanted more smoke...which I still dont have.. I give up on ever
