How much hp can you get out of a 4bt cummins?

I'm wanting a 4bt cummins but how much can you get out of one of these an I don't no much about them!

There is a guy that put one in a black ranger that races it with NOS I think he said he was making 800 HP.

I think SouthBend clutch had a mud truck that was making 600hp. It was in one of the diesel magazines one time.

I've heard 800 is stretching it on those. Just like messing with a 6bt...minus 2 cylinders. Are you wanting to do 4bt because of size or just to be different.


I think that Hamilton had a cam ground for the 4bt he had in a Dakota.
Any pump shop like scheid, cds, piers, etc can tune them.

There was a truck in Diesel Power a few years ago, a 70's something Bronco with a 4BT in it.. If I remember right, it was around 750..

i know a guy whos got one, been sayin he was gunna put it an old ford single cab for 2 or 3 years now but I dont think he has givin up hope yet but i can ask him your interested.
