So what's up for us Texas residents and EPA?

Just wondering if and when the state is going to start requiring us to pass a sniff test?

Here's what I am most interested in..the facts! Texas diesel facts

Not what's going on with the other states (be it gas or diesel)
Not what your uncles brother who works at an inspection station heard

Facts! Diesel facts!

What is currently being proposed in Texas. What steps in Texas have been taken to show that this is a possibility here soon.

Again, not interested in hear-say, that's irrelevant. Or the laws that gassers are held to.

I'm open to learning.

I just hadn't been keeping up to date with it and was wondering. I've heard of stricter laws coming though

Since new laws went into effect Jan 1 there is at least two years before you have to worry about it.

If everybody would wise up and vote for Ted Cruz, he'll cut the EPA staff so that the only sniffing going on will be the the two dirty old men in the EPA office sniffing around the hot young thang answering the phones.

New laws I general. Legislature met last year so they won't meet again until next year and laws from that session won't go into effect until Sept 17 or Jan 18.

Just remember brothers, voice your concerns with your elected officals...AND yes they do listen.

we don't even have full gasser emissions yet, other than like 5 counties...i wouldn't worry about it...

all i'm required by the dps to do with an inspection to a truck is to make sure there's a muffler under it if it was equipped from factory, that the factory emissions parts are there(keep in mind, that they are there, don't give a damn if they've been punched out or otherwise defeated), both underneath and under hood, and that tires and brakes and all that stuff are good...

it'll be a cold day in hell when someone is actually ticketed by a trooper for a dpf delete...unless you're blowing smoke all over like a jackass...in which case ya deserve it anyway

Exactly. Thankfully this isnt Commiefornia, even on Gassers just hook up OBD port and if no codes, they dont look at anything else, on diesels just safety check. As long as people dont drive around like idiots blowing smoke, no one really gives diesels a second thought in Texas...

Been helping a buddy move some campers across the state lines when hes backed up and ive noticed that when DOT stops me they only ask to see if its got a muffler on it. (which it does) One stated it sounded a little deeper than the normal haul truck. Keep in mind im using a 3/4 ton leveled on some American forces so it stands out pretty quick to those guys when they are use to bone stock duallys and what not. either way ive had them all be very nice to me and just ask to do a normal walk around to get me back on the road quick.
