A miss

I have a 2000, just had the injector pump and lift pump replaced. It's developed a miss of some sort. Idles rough and tends to be worse when it's at operating temperature. Runs down the road great, just rough at idle. The mechanic that replaced the pumps said his computer couldn't pick anything up on a possible injector problem and no codes on the pump. Attempted to crack each line individually and still couldn't make a determination.

Any ideas?

Maybe a lot of water in the filter unit? Questionable fuel has made my truck sputter a bit like that. Drained the fuel filter canister and refreshed with a new baldwin filter and it was better, but didn't fully go away until i filled up with a fresh batch of diesel from a known good station i've used before. I don't know if that will do it or not, but maybe you'll get lucky.

The other idea that I had was I remember reading a post in here about a wire that was rubbing against the a/c pump and it rubbed itself raw and once it got electrical taped and zip tied, everything went back to normal. If i can find that post, i'll drop it in here for ya.

Good luck!

Ok...the tape up project...that was for the trani popping in and out of lockup...so nevermind that.

But someone said that they cleaned up the battery terminals and it fixed it for a while until they replaced them and then all was betta.... got corrosion?

One other said lift pump issues, fuel pressure test would diagnose that one.

if it is missing simpl get one of those temp guns with the laser in it and measure the temp on the manifold at each cylinder find the one that has a big difference of temp compared to the rest of the cylinders and that is your missing injector
