Tranny "Park" problems
Hello my fellow members, Would like to start off by saying I have had my 04 Dodge Cummins for a year now and I love it! Been having some problems with my parking gear lately however. When i put my truck in park it just keeps on rolling. Sometimes it will catch after rolling about 7ft but that is usually only when it is warm. Any of you guys have this same problem? Any Ideas for a cure? Dave

Sounds like a misadjusted park rod. This runs from the gear sector on the VB to the park pawl in the tailshaft housing. If that doesn't do it, its possible that the park mechanism is somehow broken or worn. This problem is why I always use my parking brake.

Thanks again for the help guys, just wanted to update you on the situation. I have changed the park pawl rod, old one was damaged. The park mechanism worked the frist few tries and hasn't worked since. Looks like I am going to have to take a look at the park pawl itself, When it gets a bit warmer
