I have 42k on my 6.7 the tailpipe is clean, except for a little rust. It is three months old. These trucks should never blow smoke.
Big Brothers, how weight are you pulling and what gearing. You don't have a sig. posted. I get about 13 to 13.5 pulling 12k. I have gotten as low as 9 but that was nearly 25k behind the ole girl. I have been impressed with the fuel mileage on mine.

If you think about it 10 mpg isn't that bad considering we're pullin 9k over what the vehicle is rated to pull. If you look into vehicles that are rated to pull that kind of weight they're getting between 7 & 9 mpg loaded, and maybe 10 mpg unloaded. Just my .02 cents though. I would suggest watching your rear axle heat though, They get so hot the paint peels off and will fry the factory oil they put in it.

I have an 07 with 40k on it now and it started smoking at around 6k. Same story, smokes under normal to heavy accel then dies off. Dealer does not know what causes it. No noticiable decrease in proformance.

Think we found the problem

It smoked from 7500-17,000 with no lights or performance issues. Then the engine light came on, then the next day the throttle light came on. After two more times at the dealer, Dodge told them to replace the throttle body ??. Things were fine for a day, then on came the lights again. Now Dodge has told them to replace the control module and particulate filter. They should have come in today, I'm waiting for a call to take it in.

Dodge believes that with the mulitple computer updates that the control module has not recognized the programming and therefore the exhaust is not regenerating properly. We'll see.

I know that Dodge / Cummins were very happy to announce that they meet 2010 emissions requirements in 2007, but at what price! I'd be happy with a truck that meets 2007 emission requirements, forget 2010. As a matter of fact, I'd be happy with a truck that doesn't meet any emission requirement. I'll sure be happy when someone comes up with a way to get rid of all of this emissions junk. I'm willing to take my chances with the warranty and the law.

I've never gotten any smoke out of mine.

Some of you guys complaining abut mileage are lucky, imo. I get 12.5-13.5 mpg unloaded. Loaded with 8k I drop to about 11.0 mpg. I dread seeing how bad it gets pulling 15k.

Someone said there was a flash available 8/31/07. Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware and my truck needs it.

I have had my 6.7l for 2 weeks and i got 17mpg first tank and 13mpg on my second tank what gives this is hand calculated. Could it be that it has the 4:11 gears. They have already replaced the turbo speed sensor a day after I bought it....I wish i would have found this site before I bought the truck oh well you live and learn

Have 6000 miles and its like it turned the corner hand calculated 15 city & highway sometimes it says 16.6 on highway. 3500 DRW 4x4 75mph on highway and 4th or 5th in city.
