Question gents.
My buddy just put a 6 inch lift running after market wheels with 37's and I took it for a spin and the steering wheel has to much play in it, you can swing it left to right while driving and tires do not move. How can this little problem get fixed??

sounds like your buddy has a worn out steering box. Mine's doing the same thing and that's the porb with mine. crawl under the front and have someone turn the wheels. Watch the sector shaft to see if it moves back and forth when the wheel is turned. best way to fix this is to replace the box and put a steering brace on it. there are a bunch of companys that make nice braces. it's a brace that goes from frame rail to fram rail and has a tab that comes out and supports the sector shaft with an added greasable bearing. do a search I think there are a few threads on here about them.

you can also tighten up your steering box with the adjustment screw

It would be anything in the steering worn really, a lot of thing can cause it. Is he running a new track bar or just a drop bracket? That is how my steering felt with a 3" lift and nothing on the track bar. New adjustable track bar and the steering goes back to tight.

As far as a steering box brace, it helps but shouldn't be used to try and cure any problems that your already having

If the axle isn't centered due to the track bar it will cause the issue. Because of how many miles on it, i'd say that is probably the issue.
