I really dont think the shocks cause additional stress on the buckets. The weight of the truck is supported by the coils, not the shocks. The King 2.5s only have 150psi of nitrogen and ride smoother than the Bilsteins I had from before. None of the highend companies sell or recomend any type of bracing or reinforcement for the buckets. Not even on Carli's Advanced Dominator 3.0 kit. Those are massive shocks and and I've never heard of anyone tearing up the buckets due to stress from the shocks.

Hey Spankdog, if u don't mind me asking, what is the ballpark on the price of what u got. I would like to smooth out the ride some on my truck also when I level it out. I have spoken to Don via email once about some of his stuff, but didn't really get into a lot of detail cuase I wasn't ready to order then.

You also could save some money and not get the resivor shocks in the rear...I dont think they would do much with having the leaf springs...atleast thats my outake on it...if someone can prove me wrong i might just buy the resivor shocks for the rear.

Yea, no problem. The coils, sway bar links, front shock towers, limit straps, 4 control arms, 4 King 2.5 res. shocks, res. mounts and hardware, Fox steering stabilizer, and adjustable track bar, was right around $3550. The rear DP springs from Lorenz were around $1100. Don is pretty much a one man show so he is pretty busy most of the time. Once I let him know I was serious about setting up my truck he was more than happy to spend some time on the phone to figure out what I needed.

I guess it depends on how you plan to use your truck. I good non res. shock might be fine for every day driving. All I know is that I ran the stock shocks with my new springs for about a week before my new shocks came in and the ride was improved, but not great. Then the new shocks went on and the difference was obvious. I realize that Im comparing crappy stock shocks to custom valved high dollar ones, but the difference was huge. Way smoother. Another thing to consider is that offroad, shocks build up alot of heat and fade quickly. The additional fluid in the res. shocks allow them to run cooler for much longer, which translates to more control. Just my .02

Is Don Thuren a member on this board? We build his suspension joints and tube adapters and I think he'd appreciate the props as well!

yeah offroad would be a big help, my truck now (ford) just sits at home most of the time and is lifted for looks..same will be for the Dodge when I get it...I do plan on getting resivor shocks up front (most likely fox) and non resv fox in the rear once i lift it (probably going with RIZE as that is a smooth riding lift for the Fords..hopefully the same for Dodges) and that wont be avaliable til october.

Man, I just wrote you a really long set of instructions on the install and when I went to post it the the forum siad I wasnt a member. WTF? Anyway, Im sorry but Im not going through all that typing again. If you want to pm me your # or an email address I can try it again later. Its really a pretty simple install but there are a few tricks. Im sure Don will be happy to go over it with you but if you need help just let me know
