Pieceing together 8" lift

I was about to buy the TGC 8" long arm, but when I added up each part on their site the total for ALL the parts on their lift is only $1640, I couldn't believe they charge that much MORE if you buy the kit. So I am going to piece stuff together. I am just wondering what you guys think is the best for each part?

I am thinking pure performance long arms and track bar
TGC 8" coils
TGC swar bar end links and drop pitman arm (not to concerned about these)
7" rear Atlas leafs
4 Bilstein 5100's
Basicly just their kit but new springs instead of their AAL and blocks, I added it all up, with new leafs i'm only looking about just under $2000, pretty much the identical price to their kit, then another $280 for Bilsteins.

Would you guys recomend I get anything different? Like is there some good 8" coils that are suppose to be better or anything? I am not sure what I am going to do for steering yet, I am open to idea about that to (just don't mention Thuren, flat out I won't use his products).

For front driveshaft I am thinking about getting a shop to put high angle u-joints and lengthen it?

Cause you have so much experience with my parts LOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!

You absolutely kill me man...

I am posting cause I can already see where this thread is going to go, with reference to me. I'm asking that any one who has been happy with my service just let cool guy here off, and try to help him without causing another one of "those threads". I feel Mocho's dislike for my parts as become a personal issue now, and believe it or not can respect that, as everyone is different, and I surely have a dislike for this guys character.

Thanks

Dr Drew always say that kids that had been abuse on their childhood expect every people to be abusive around them even on their adult life. (my halloween character is responsible for this )

Don, you're too nice of a guy and you failed to verbally abuse him on the phone. not sure about you guys but i never get a call back on Saturday morning from a company when i have issue with my purchase. Don did that when i was having issue with my SS and he was not even at his shop.

Moch: you'll need the indexing ring for the elevated lift to reduce the angle of your front drive shaft. OUO carry them along with the xmember bracket. Indexing Ring/Crossmember Drop Install w Pics

Why are you not concerned about obtaining a drop pitman arm? With 8" of lift, youre going to have wicked bumpsteer if you dont use one, even with a drop bracket for the track bar.

Are you sure won't need to clock the Transfer Case too?

Other than that, all you need is an alignment and a Yankee Candle Air Freshner and youll be set.

First of all, THUREN is THE MAN when it comes to suspension, thats just the truth buddy, and every suspension guru knows it. He and Carli also have the BEST customer service when it comes to followup on his product.

I only WISH I could have more of his parts on my truck as I know so do many other forum members do too.

Now...regarding your coil springs, quick FYI... I have not heard good things about TGC coils unless you want a horrible ride. I would shop around more for the coils from other lift companies.

I've heard mixed reviews on the TGC coils. I would look to get some better quality ones. I would have said get some custom ones from Don but I guess that's a no go.

I'm also not the biggest fan of Atlas leafs. I ran some on my superduty and they were really stiff. The rear end felt like it was hopping down the freeway over expansion joints. They would still sag really bad under the weight of my trailer too. I would look at the deavers. I know Pure Performance runs them in their 8'' pre-runner kit.

then decide on your steering setup and get some good steering stabs.

I had some suggestions but apparently I can't mention them...

What an insult! You won't use a certain someone's products, but you will use TGC???

I really didn't want to explain again but I guess I will. The reason I don't really want Thuren's stuff is because my buddy has steering from him has been a knightmare. Don, why did you tell him heim joints are offroad only and you won't warranty them? It doesn't seem like you stand behind your product to well. Your steering looks like a good setup and the price seems fair, but I can't see buying a product that won't be warrantied if I have a problem. And the worst part is you have to drill out all your stock steering and if you aren't happy with it later on your spending a fortune to go back to stock (like my buddy found out) and now the steering is sitting in his garage and he's spent a fortune to just return to stock. Because he got sick of replacing the heims non stop.

I have no complaints about your products other then the above mentioned things and welding (I know that isn't a problem for the 3rd gen stuff).

If you really want to prove me wrong feel free. If you will guarentee you will warranty the steering if a heim goes etc I will buy your steering and track bar, how does that sound?

Heck, if you really believe your products are superior for quality and ride, offroad etc give me a price for everything like coils, etc to complete my 8" lift.

The reason is how many people praise KORE? Last summer I decieded to pull the trigger on their RECON kit, it was the biggest POS ever, I could barely drive on the highway because my steering was so terrible, and the ride was far from great. Yea the parts looked nice but they were overpriced crap.

I know it is a different company but I was not impressed with KORE so I am very skeptical of Thuren and Carli. I know it is bias but that's how I feel.

The reason I said i'm not worried about the drop pitman arm is basicly a pitman arm is a pitman arm. I know I need one that is long enough but other then that not a big deal.

Here's the thing about clocking the transfer case, I have been looking into custom driveshafts and the angles many of them use are massive, so I was thinking wouldn't high angle u-joints take care of it? I don't really want to drop my crossmember or clock the transfer case unless I have to.

I was just looking at Atlas because Deaver's are like $1,200

so, if i went out and bought a kia sephia and the POS broke down once a week, then i shouldn't trade it on a dodge challenger, ford mustang, or any other car??

that's a lame excuse bro...

FAIL

No, because how many people lump all 3 together and say they all make performance suspension products instead of cheap lifts like the rest? Tuff country makes a better product then KORE by FAR.
