KORE might have been praised when they first came out but that is far from true now. Many of the guys with KORE stuff are swapping it out for Carli and Thuren with great results.

Kent has horrible customer service and his product has barely been refined since it hit the market. His coils are a great example of this. They are so stiff it causes for a poor street ride...unless you valve your shocks for the spring rate. Since his valving is pretty much non exhistant the ride is going to be crap. That being said its still better than most of the lift companies stuff out there and the components are quality.

as for the poor steering that could have been from many things including worn stock parts and the KORE kit made it more noticable. Kind of like adding spacers to stock steering.

Dont let KORE or one situation with your friend's steering ruin your opinion on Carli or Thuren. Both companies have great people that will go WAY out of their way to service customers and their products perform WAY better than the competition (KORE, Lorenz, Etc).

Good luck with your build. I hope everything works out and you get the performance and ride you're looking for.

I'm sorry but that's just wrong.

No it was the lift. I tore it off and put the 6" Tuff Country and my steering is back to perfect. It was because my axle wasn't centered and the kit comes with nothing for it. Yes their coils were terrible, and I really felt the lift was cheaply put together because so many essential parts are missed.

Yea like I said in another post I am willing to give Thuren's stuff a try, but I want to know about the heim deal, I am not about to drop big coin on some stuff to be replacing parts in a year or less.

most people i know don't lump the 3 together for the very reasons you mentioned...i can't comment on kore personally, but i can on thuren and carli both. and i can tell you i've had great experiences from both INCLUDING the "nightmare" steering you speak of.
your buddy should have known going in what he was getting into with the steering as this is taken straight from don's website.

Kore's kits dont come with trac bars. that is a short coming of their stuff but they do have one. Maybe if they had the customer service of Carli or Thuren you could have called and discussed your ride/steering issues and come up with a better resolution.

A trac bar isnt a necessity with only 3'' of lift but it is recomended to re-center your axle. Heck Don probably sells more trac bars than anything else he makes because even the lift companies or spacers dont address this either.

Just because Tuff country's comes with a drop pitman arm and a drop bracket doesnt mean its a better quality kit. I'll take KORE's bilstein 5100s and leaf pacs over the white body TC shocks and blocks in the rear any day. KORE's coils are better too.

My buddy had one of TC kits and it wanst bad on road. Thats because the springs wore out and sagging and the shocks had minimal damping. If he tried to do any light offroading or even go over a speed bump he would blow through the shocks and be bottoming on the bumpstops.

He didn't have a big problem with that, his problem was he couldn't keep heims in the steering and Thuren wouldn't warrantry them because he was driving on the street.

Why would he warranty a wear item in the first place. Could he not work with the guy to get him some better heims to replace them with?

Does your friend expect his brake pads to be warrantied against wear as well?

Depends on where he bought them, they might just have that kind of warranty

You need to chill out. Hiem joints get loose, that's the way it is. If your buddy wanted something that lasts longer on the road, he should have stuck with tie rods. If you don't want to use Thuren then don't. He has offered great parts for our trucks longer than the "high dollar" companies and there are hundreds of others that will vouch for his parts, service and knowledge. So don't sit there and make it seem like he doesn't know what he is doing or that he sells low quality parts. If you want help, take it as an opinion. So how about YOU quit talking out of your a$$ and making YOURSELF look dumb. Oh yeah, how about using the SEARCH button? There are about 10 other threads on here asking the same question, not to mention a few builds (including mine) that will answer your questions.
