The crossmember is there to support your frame etc, and lowering it will allow things to twist more I am thinking, as I have seen some people complain about it after lower the crossmember. High angle u-joints wouldn't affect anything.

Exactly

I ran a dual CV high angle unit on my superduty because of the huge lift. It worked fine on the street because the hubs allow the front drive shaft to stay stationary. If it was rotating all the time like it would on our dodges it would wear out too fast. I also still had a pretty bad vibration around 30 mph when the hubs were locked and in 4x4 because of the excessive movement/angle of the joints.

a free spin hub kit and high angle drive shaft to do what you want is going to get expensive quick.

If you have to lift it 8''+ t-case indexing/cross member drops are just part of the game.

Im going thru this same deal with my 11" lift, unless you have a front hub kit that makes it a free floating front axle(non-Spinning unless engaged) you would not be able to just put a high angle joint and/or just lenghten the front shaft. It would brake and send money down the drain. My setup will be adjustable indexing ring, with a lenghtened front shaft and good night. it will be around the $400 dollar mark by the end of the week and ready to roll. Just a lil heads up from my experiance, and many others.

Get the ouo kit and you will have zero issues dropping the x-member

I second that, attitude performance ring for the adjustability and OUO crossmember drop to keep things from hitting each other. I'm running this setup on a 6 inch lift but due to the tire and wheel combination I want to run I will have to go bigger. I can do that with this setup and not have to worry about drive line issues.

I've got a couple of customers that now have this setup and are problem free!

2nd gens have the front axle disconnect on the passenger axle shaft. Assuming that he has an open diff, it probably won't spin.

ok right then so my 2nd gen never spins with the t-case in 2 wheel drive but if i am in 2 low i know for a fact it does so these newer trucks the front dirve shaft is always spining??
that seems like it would be a little rough on parts
