everyone says that truck wont handle offroad, well i was in that truck when it was three feet off the ground a month ago at some dunes in vegas. also that kit is not 9k its about 18k,that truck was built to run 100mph safely and handle on and offroad so if you think your stick welded square tubimg will hold up to jumping dunes well you might want to think again

but anyways, from what I can gather, his truck has been the guinea pig for this 16" kit. 9k buys the 5000 series for the fords so what makes this one cost so much more then the other 4000 series kits?
Those kit prices don't include the remote resevoir coilover shocks, the rear Deaver springs that are on this truck, the custom driveshafts,or the Ford Dana 60 that is up front to replace the AAM axle. I figure this stuff adds at least $5-6k.

I don't know why you guys are bustin' this guys balls. If he has the means to build a truck like he is talking about we should support him. First off he is creating a reason for us to visit this site. I would hope to think that you all don't come on here multiple times a day to gawk at each others leveling kit or keep asking what the best oil change intervals are. Second he is at least talking about putting some money into our economy and buying American made products. He could always go spend the money on a Yamaha motorcycle and a huge Mitsubishi flat screen. Those would help our country out alot as well as be "practical" and be great investments.

There are probably tons of better ways to spend your money than to build a lifted showtruck, but he is at least hoping to make it somewhat useful. How about the guys that dump huge amount of cash in to sportcars, dragcars, showcars, raceboats, choppers, str eetrods, truck pullers, and import tuner cars? Heck, you can't even drive most of those year round if you wanted to? Does this make his ideas for a truck practical for a daily driver? No,but in general neither does my currently non-lifted Megacab.

Yes i have been there. Not saying they arent, but as a show truck the whole point is to show off right? You show off more in a truck that can change height at the flick of a switch verus something that sits at one height all the time. I was speaking on mearly the "show truck" look not fuctionality of any kind. Then again ive never built anything for show.

I for one wasn't trying to " bust his balls" as you say. Was mearly giving my .02 worth on his decision to spend so much on a mere suspension lift kit. I have nothing against spending money on a truck or any other ride, you can clearly see in my sig that i have spent plenty alredy on my 07. I just would not spend that amount on a suspension especially now we know it was alot more than what he thought it was going to cost. He could heavily mod the whole truck for the amount of money that he would be puting into suspension, wheels, and tires alone. But hey its not my truck or my money

one up offroad 16" kit

I own the 2007 megacab that has the 16" lift. I just became aware of this forum and decided to check it out. I really appreciate Skydram for taking up for my truck and oneupoffroads lift. I appreciate bigblue24 making so much sense of all this, smart guy. And dixiemtndiesel is right, this lift is engineered incredibly, and the guys at one up know their stuff. And we did just take the truck to sema on a trailer like a "queen" and after the show we drove the truck 40 miles to the dunes and launched it like a skateboard at the x games. We had 2 national caliber photgraphers there to document it along with some other people. It is a test truck for this oneupoffroad lift that is still being developed. We found the stock Dodge shock towers can not handle a 60 ft fall 3 feet off the ground the whole way. So shock tower replacements are now being designed to replace what dodge did not make strong enough. This is a lot of fun, we don't smoke, drink, don't vacation, don't go out to eat often, we build trucks. It is a hobby that is fun and puts money into our economy. I appreciate every truck that comes into my shop (send a mechanic.com) with a leveling kit, because they are into the sport as well! I will enjoy talking with everyone about anything they want to know, and I will have my share of questions too about everyones ride. Thanks, Chet.

yeah.... so where are the pics.

the ones of it on its roof too.

like i said, its not a bad looking truck, its just not practical at all, and defiantly not meant to be off road w/ a COG that high.
