bobcat, I know you already know this. BUT....unfortunately these 06+ trucks have trannys that can barely hold the stock power output. even if you put a mere extra 100hp on the truck, your past the limit on that tranny. Add those 37s to it and its even worse. So yeah the lift doesnt help the situation by allowing larger tires.

I know Im on my last legs with my tranny. It didnt like the edge juice/att/EZ stack and the 38.5s lol. Ive been real easy on it too. Never crank the chips up past 2. Still its going. But those Georend trannys are not cheap!.

finally someone who reads and understands what i'm talking about, and i knew the tranny's were bad i just didn't think they were as bad as mine turned out to be, and no Goerends aren't cheap, but I only want to do it once and be done with it so i bit the bullet and went for it

i see no ram assist, just a steering stabilizer. and correct geometry does fix all. but with those tires and the factory steering box, you cannot turn those tires if you 4wheelin. i'm not saying mudding i'm talking about 4 wheeling.

EDIT and if its made for wheeling why still leafs in the rear? doesn't make sense, glorified show truck imo. but a nice one

the 400 series has custom deaver springs for the back. 500 series has the coilover front and back. the leaves are most like there so you can put some air bags on there, and do some towing from the receiver if necessary, it maintains some of the stock function. At least thats what I make of it

I think you missed his point.
Besides, while that is my biggest complaint of the kit, you also noticed how they mounted it so you should also notice that that little shock mount is the main support for the coil bucket so I'm confident the bracket can hold it. The bolt itself more than likely will hold but only time will tell.
I have had this truck jumping in the dunes and doing 50 60 mph down the woops just like their vid shows and have zero problems. I also tow a 16K# 5r and have zero problems. Before I had this lift I had a superlift on it and just very mild off roading and towing the 5r it was ripping itself apart and I only have 35's.

The point here is that if you get or build something that has the proper engineering invested in it the drivability and reliability are back into control again. Looking at that kit from the pics posted in this thread there are only a few things I would change on it. It looks very well designed. Would I buy it personally? No it wouldn't work for what I use my truck for. That does not mean I don't think its well built. I think we all can agree that if you do serious offroading something is gonna break there will always be a weak link somewhere. It's just a matter of finding it.

Maybe my other post did come off like dad in all his wisdom and experience. But I was surprised to hear Blue wanted to take this direction after all he talked about in other threads. And so I was just giving my oppinion nothing more. It was in no way a dig at the capability or quality of the equipment. Thats the great thing about forums they are a place to share oppinions and ideas and advice. The ability to read through and see what fits your needs, and helps you the most is the hard part but can really be a great help and save people from wasting time, energy and most important to most, money.

And off rant, hope all this makes sense. beer

If i didnt make sense in the post you quoted the quote from..lol

what I meant was that before you ran that kit, people wanted to say that it could never compare in quality to the other manufacturers like kore/carli/lorenz/thuren for quality. You went your own route, and came to realize that it was a great kit!

and now that someone has used this product and can justify that its a good product, it has gained respect from the skeptics. I think the same thing would come from this

also, since I started thinking aobut selling my truck..about mid sumer, I started thinking of what i would replace it with and how I wold go about building it. This lead into more or less thoughts of a dream truck and I had this image in my head. When I saw that video it was like seeing this thought, this image in action, and its been consstant thought since then.

something aobut the way that truck looks and performs in that video is just...perfect IMO

I didn't mean that you didn't make sense. I think we are on the same page as far as that goes.

WHAT My head hurts.

Blue, if the shoe fits wear it. Don't let me or anyone else tell you what to do. Like I said forums are great because of all the oppinions and experiences you can draw from as well as all the B.S. Your doing your research and finding the pros and cons (read: cops up your a$$ for what ever they decide that day ect. ect.) Sorry had to get that little dig in there. Hell your 17 now and have gotten this far who knows maybe you'll go get "edumuckated" on suspension, and chassis design and be putting all us fools to shame in future.

I was thinking it migh be kind of different to design and build these high end lifts. you just need to have your own product..and the more time you spend designing..the longer you go....without money
