Email received today from a Cummins tuning customer. Sent out tuning for over a dozen common rails today. Builds all across the board. Will be fine tuning and adjusting for each set-up and building a data base.
"You can't see me right now, but I have a big grin on my face. I'm am really impressed. This tow tune actually moves out pretty good! I even killed an LB7 on a 50 mph roll (I'm sure he wasn't running one of your tunes). I'm making a couple more #'s of boost than I was with a 200 hp Smarty tune and I could not get the EGTs over 1200 (I was trying pretty hard). The EGTs are lower than a stock tune. Turbo spools nicely. Throttle is much more linear than the xxx brand. It really feels like a stock truck until you mash the pedal. I'm headed to the track Saturday night so we'll see what this tow tune can do. I can't wait to try some of your race tunes."
We will keep updating with results here. Anyone else with EFILive on Cummins? Let us know what you think!!!

Feedback is coming in from some beta testers with highly modded trucks. Twins, dual pumps/modded singles, all different size large injectors, etc.
"The performance tune is unbelievable. It launches like a rocket with lots of smoke at first then clears up again at 30psi. EGT's never got over 1300deg. Made 55lb of boost. and a huge smile from ear to ear. Thanks Rob."
Another customer we are dialing in.
"Spool up and throttle is awesome. Even when it locks into of truck doesn't fall on it's face as it did before. So far no smoke at idle, power is awesome. I love the way the truck is running however it still smokes pretty good until high rpms."

Thanks for the reply. I am flashing two more tow tunes today to test. Dont want to remove the HP tune in there now though as it is way to fun to drive. Stock truck with cat and all and it shreds tires!!! Very little smoke too!!!!

Here is another reply. This truck is a twin turbo setup!
Subject: First tow tune run
The truck has never ran this smooth pulling this trailer. I set the cruise
on 70 and let it go. EGT's stayed at 900 deg, boost at 15 psi. When it
climbed a hill EGT's went to 1150 deg and boost went to 38 psi and speed
dropped to 69.5 mph. The power came on real easy, no harsh power band feel.
I would get some gray smoke would come out of the stacks and just a light
haze would come out when it climbed hills. The fuel mileage stayed about the
same, right around 8 mpg. The Smarty (on level 2) would give good power with
harsh takeoff's and a lot of black smoke. I am very impressed with this
tune. I can't wait to try the other tune. I think my wife and kids may be a
little upset if I ended our trip early just to see how the truck pulls the
trailer. Lol

Here is another response and great feedback and results. Hope everyone had a great fourth!!!
Rob,
Just got back from a couple hour mixed highway and in town drive using the new version of the tow/street tune you sent me. All I can say is you pretty much nailed it. It does everything well and almost no smoke!!! Thanks for making my truck fun to drive again. It's great not having to drive like an old lady just so I don't smoke out everybody behind me everytime I step on the throttle.
A quick question in regards to this tune. I see the June 24 software update added the tire size adjustment feature, does this tune take into account my tire size (35x12.5R17) already or do I have to change it?
I hope to be able to try the performance tune this weekend when I go to my cabin and find some roads less travelled to test it out on.
Do you have any T-shirts or stickers I could buy to do some promoting of the great product and service you provide?

This is a vid of Brandon and his first test with EFILive "Idaho Rob" tuning. Brandon was excited and as we fine tune he should be a force to reckon with in his pulling adventures!!!
Thanks for the calls and requests for Cummins EFILive info. There are several very good shops that have developed EFILive tuning too. We hope to visit with some of the dealers while at SEMA next week. We will also be meeting with the EFILive team, we have many questions regarding Cummins tuning for the other model years and the switchable tuning too. Below is another response from a happy Cummins driver!
Hey Rob,
Yes, I have confirmed that no boost fooler is needed. 46psi on a stock turbo is plenty high I think. The tune runs good. It's hard to really test it out right now, because it's been wet the past two days, and forget about getting it to hook up. I will say that It doesn't seem to have the low end that the smarty did, but my 0-60 times are the same. So I'm thinking I'm just not used to the smooth power over the choppy response. And so far my egts are cooler and my fuel rail pressure is less off idle, so I'm pretty happy. Both times I've driven it so far it's been dark, so I can't comment on the smoke yet but I feel like there is none. Overall I'm pretty happy with it so far. I'll just have to watch now that I don't pop my head gasket. One big thing I did notice, is it fuels harder at high rpms. Right up to the redline and then some, it fuels and pulls.
Thanks
Andrew
