YouTube - Dodge Diesel 3500 Dual Disk Clutch

Mine held 4th gear.

Call Peter and ask him about me.

I've broken all of his clutchs except this sprung dual disk, which I think is a 3850 plate load.
Broke the OFE (5-speed (rivets) and 6-speed conversion(rivets and wore out)), FE (6-speed conversion(rivets again)) and the solid disk dual disk (splines).

Tell him that you want a clutch that Merrick couldn't break. LOL. He'll understand.

Ill try to give him a call. I dont have very much time during the day to talk on the phone thats why i posted up in South Bends section hoping they might chime in also. I got on it some this evening and seems to be holding now. So we'll see how it keeps working, think all i needed to do was wear off the burnt layer off the pads.
Thanks guys
Jeff H.

My First dual disk did that, but I really abused it alot more than this one.

My OFE also did that, but as I gave it a few more miles, it started holding again.

If it continues to hold, you probably just glazed and you have to re-break it in.

dont quite know how this turned out for you. but to me it sounds like you just glazed the clutch a little. give it some time it will reseat and be fine again!! if it does not, at that point is when i would call and talk to Peter he will know exactly what to do. best customer service i have ever seen!
