I don't think the pictures here can be rated the way most of us would like too....so it might be a good thing

I'll remember to request another ladies month sometime around April-June time frame. That way it WILL be warm enough.

Just giving you all a hard time. It is nice to see women joining in with the guys on these trucks

While not trying to rain on anyones parade here I do have an observation about the monthly contests lately. Its a shame we have gotten away from the way it was done at first, meaning the moderators choosing the trucks and us voting on them. With members making the topics for the monthly contest it comes down to preference and favoritism instead of who has the nicest rig for the month.Personally,we need to go back to the way it was done or create a panel of members who will help the mods decide what the topic will be and whose rig gets in for the competition.

I also am in firm belief that there has got to be rules for participation in those contests.Number of posts, minimum membership time and only one nomination per year, per truck, are good ways to even the fields and are better at keeping out those who join just to say they won the monthly contest, instead of being a member here and participating.

I do appreciate the ladies month contest but feel your missing on other lady members who are owners and participate when you allow someone who just joined compete.....Andy

i tell you what, you pick out rigs each month and ill put them up for the contest. you find the sponsor each month and ill put them up.
its not done like it used to be because its easier this way and i dont have the time to spend 20000000000 hours a month on rotm. i do this in my spare time not as a job. not to rain on anyone elses parade either but i do it this way as its hard to just choose trucks. i choose a theme of what kinda truck to go for ask for intrested parties as ive had problems in the past of parties not being intrested, and then varies on intrest have a whole bunch picked out. its not a favortism thing its more of a whos intrested thing.

On this one there were a few suggestions as to what should be the topic. By a majority of the replies in the thread the decision was made to do a ladies month. Sure things got a little off topic by comments of pics of the ladies with trucks optional, but we got back on track by stating that the truck had to be owned by the woman, and at she had to drive it at least 50% of the time. It also ended up that she didn't have to be in the picture, just the truck did.
I am sure there is a way that we could come up with some type of theme each month (like winter = Nov is 1st gen plows, Dec is 2nd gen plows, and Jan is 3rd gen plows) but would we ever hit everyones ideas for topics. I mean there are pulling contest pics, show and shine pics, dyno pics, drag pics, work pics, etc. If there was a schedule for doing it, it would take a few years before some trucks would even have a chance to enter.
I don't mean to rant, or take sides, but I have noticed a difference in the way ROTM is handled, but I am not upset by it.

yeah i dont think that a Gen specific ROTM would really be fair to the forum because that would exclude 2/3's of the trucks right?

and BTW if some people would do a little research before posting they would know that miss_un_glued joined 1-11-07 and this thred wasnt even started until 1-29-07....so how would she have known that the next months ROTM was going to be exclusively for women cummins owners?

Ah Yes Mobs...
Well I actually wasn't trying to make this a flame session or a another thread war, but, how can one not do that when instead of giving us straight answers you fly off the handle, again.I am guessing I hould have figured that though as it seems like anymore instead of calm discussions and answers from anyone in power,we the membership here, are given rants and raves along with not one spec of a common sense answer.

I am certain I made no comments about you or any of the moderators being overworked but I did say something about a panel to help you all with the contest.I do believe that some rules need to be used as when you allow members to just slip in to compete in the contest only with them not ever having participated in any other forum, then you end up with nothing more than guys/gals jumping ship to compete. This is NOT a complaint just a meare observation on my part.

Sit back, drink a 6 and relax all that stress is going to kill you.....Andy

hammer what do you mean again? im normally the one in the bleachers just watching whats going on.
im sorry not everyone is happy with how rotm is handled but to be blunt i havnt had a lot of time to spend on it. ive been working an intense amount at work and its not slowing down (72 hours last week)

i do rotm the way i do it is because thats how a MAJORITY of the members wants it.. i cannot please everyone nor do i try.

a week or so before the next month i put up a thread " hey gang next month is around the corner what do you want to see for rotm theme?" or so forth
and by majority of the replies i judge on what to do for that months theme.
then i ask for people who are intrested to post up pictures....
i do not go through the garages as that is way to time consuming. i do not use ones emailed to me as i get pix emaild to me all day long and most of the time i dont even check them anymore.

normally the first 3 that are posted up are used. sometimes i have to use judgement on that though.

i put up a suggestions thread post up in there if you want more suggestions but remeber i cannot please everyone.
