Besides "workinprogress" and "prerunner59".......the rest of you guys....really???????

at least flex your out. And to B_smith.....come on guy. Heimz gonna b mad

builtbetter 01-03-2012 09:10 AM

:agree2:

Nobody really brought anything to the table.

Prerunr59.....I just can't vote for a thuren promotional pic, but HOLY $HIT that is sick!

I was hoping to see some rock crawling, mud slinging REAL off roading. What happened? :S:

BFitch 01-03-2012 11:37 AM

wish i would have seen this in december. i would have made a special trip to the mud hole just for this

Alabama Mud Machine 01-03-2012 04:54 PM

I never have any action shots b/c I'm always the friggin driver.

Guess I need to let someone else drive next time so I can get action pics.

oscar_ac50 01-03-2012 07:27 PM

i'm not trying to vouch for mine but it wasnt a very specific request guys, it said off road not off road jumping with the $5-7K suspension so quit bashing us guys that are doing good to make our trucks get down the road or tow a trailer let alone being a dd baja toy. I'd love to have a thuren/carli for on the farm when crossing corn fields but i cant afford it on my priorities list. end rant

play in Texas clay 01-03-2012 08:53 PM

Aww dang missed it... I don't think I even own a pic of my truck clean/not in a lake bed..

lap_traffic 01-03-2012 09:22 PM

I am liking the "off road" shots, not so much the "off pavement" ones :confused013:

dom42 01-03-2012 10:28 PM

Someone has feelings....

....also it didnt say off road pictures with stock suspension and what not.....I smell a hater. And not once did anyone make fun of anyone. Just some of the shots are like stated above me.....pictures on a dirt parking lot in front of a liquir store or back yard should count.

end rant lol

dom42 01-03-2012 10:31 PM

So ill take some of that back....there might b 2-3 that are some what worthy beside prerunner and workin progress......

but seriously no one can compete with pre runner59 as far in this rotm

oscar_ac50 01-03-2012 10:31 PM

i'm just jealous of his suspension :S

I simply posted a picture of what i do with my truck. didnt bash anyone.. I am lucky enough to have a great set up.
I do use my thuck and tow on a regular basis, and was rocking a level kit and bilsteins offroad for a year or two lol

WorkInProgress 01-03-2012 11:55 PM

Same here. I am not the guy to try to be-little anyone. I am the guy that is usually encouraging a guy with a leveling kit and some tires to come out with us Carli and Thuren suspended guys and have a good time with his truck, WITHOUT beating it. It can be done, and alot of us do/did it all the time with a stock truck. You dont have to get airborn or super flexed to be considered offroad, as we all know.
I am also with most of you in the situation that my vehicles have done some crazy , but there wasnt a camara there to capture it.

Another thing to consider is that different parts of the country have different ideals on what may be considered offroad. We have quite different terrain in different areas, and I am just thankful that our laws in az, as well as terrain allow me to do the offroading that I get to do, right out my front door.

Here is a picture of my truck when it was nearly completely stock... Did alot with it then as well... This Pic was right after winching and pulling on that Duramax and 5th(15K lbs.) wheel for 500 yards with both of those Cummins' in the Picture...

Now that it is clear that I am gettin STOMPED in this ROTM poll, I think it is legal to say that there is always next time, we will all just have to see what the next month ROTM theme brings....

And go ahead and say it now everyone..... AAWWWWW how cute....:S:

Alabama Mud Machine 01-04-2012 10:13 AM

Everyone is getting stomped in this ROTM.......

We don't have dunes around here, so if your truck is jumping anything.....You got a bent frame by the time your suspension settles....Regardless of how much you paid for it, or how good of quality it is. :hehe:

A: peep my signature (jump at 65mph ;) )

B: cookie cutter suspensions for mall crawlers will ride like crap and will tear your truck apart if you jump them.

C; you don't need dunes to get a cool action shot

Alabama Mud Machine 01-04-2012 10:37 AM

A) I was talking about a much bigger hill than that :S:

B) I agree strongly with this statement....My truck rides good now that I've got alot better shocks for it, than the crappy ones that came in the kit. BTW, the Top Gun Customz Nighthawk Black Ops shocks have really impressed me.

C) True, but when you're always the driver, you don't get many good action shots from outside the truck. Guess I'll have to get more next time I offroad.

Taquache 01-04-2012 10:46 AM

I was a little dissapointed on the entries this month as well.... There are a bunch of guys on here who have come great pictures like Satan's Chariot and the guy out in College Station who ran on the Blackwell BRT course (sorry I forgot his Handle)

Next Rotm will b for cummins that are stuck lol

jakesnake_sxr 01-04-2012 02:47 PM

well i should have that 1 in the bag then. i had to break out the 4x4 deere

to pull me out backwards. then i pulled the front bumper, so i could hit the

incline. wish i had a vid, my buddy said all u could see was dust and smoke:party018:

Dreadnaught 01-04-2012 03:11 PM

My pic was taken in the back 40 at Bundy hill off road park in jerome Michigan. Could of gone out in my parents back yard and buried it, but that's not really off road. Sorry its not flexed out or 10 ft in the air, but I had quads to tow home too.

oscar_ac50 01-05-2012 08:21 AM

you guys that run in the dunes and sand and stuff down south, are you seeing a ton of extra wear due to the sand or is it to early to tell? Also, do these true suspensions work ok at low speeds or is there not much gain till you are under speed. We do alot of cross row driving in cornfields on the farm and the stock suspension will just beat yuh to death.

oh and i totally hear you on the being stuck and needing a crawler to get out...here's dad's truck at cattle branding a couple years ago

WOW...I totally agree...I clicked the thread expecting to see some mud machine daily drivers....I definitely didn't expect to see guys parked in the grass...

....to bad the ROTM here says "Cummins" and not "all Cumminsforum members"....I could have at least gave workinprogress and prerunner59 some sort of competition...

Don Thuren or Sage Carli will basically build u anything u want. And our stuff works everywhere. As far as extra wear , what do u mean? of course stuff is gonna start to give , especially doing the thing s we do. But the suspension is holding up like no other. Its the other things that need to be address. Forsure the front axle needs to be trussed up and mush hav good steering and motor mounts on on on.....but theres plenty of guys on here that are daily drivers and weekend warriors . Also many work trucks with these setups......

WorkInProgress 01-05-2012 01:44 PM

As far as the cross row driving in the fields goes... Carli or Thuren sway bar would give you the most benifit, expecially when crossing the rows at say a 45* angle...
Probably the biggest improvement for my truck yet, besides shocks, and it can be used with a STOCK truck all the way up to the wildest suspension out there...

So, since there are more OFFROAD pictures out there than got entered into the ROTM contest, Post them up. We all would like to see them, I for one enjoy seeing these trucks offroad, Pictures or video. Post it up!!!!!

dom42 01-05-2012 02:39 PM

Here's my truck when i had it dropped........bwhahahhahahahaahah

dom42 01-05-2012 09:34 PM

Nah were good .....Doesnt really affect us out here like that. Not really any salt in it besides pismo beach.

Forpops 01-06-2012 03:51 AM

Mine was taking Deer hunting, My truck went were the deer were. no jeeps, no quads. Just my truck cause everyone else was getting stuck or got stuck.
