I hear the US guys talking about winter and summer blends of diesel, and how their mileage always goes way down with "winter diesel". Take it how you like.

I have owned CTD's for 18 years and every year the mileage goes down in the winter when the companies start adding anti-gelling agent to the fuel.

I was told by people who run diesel cars that Sunoco gold is best to use. I just got my 1st diesel truck this week, but bought a diesel mower this year and I run Sunoco in it.

I can buy Sunoco gold for the price of Regular diesel in Milton by the 401 but if i go to shell by my place at 401 and Winston Churchill I pay 3 or 4 cents more for regular diesel, I've noticed that everywhere else it costs me more then Milton.

I add power serve to my truck now that its cold and prob will keep on adding it for as long as i run a diesel. Any one else run this additive $10.99 at Wal Mart , I use one bottle for 3 tanks.

Dave.

I try to buy my fuel at Truck Stops only because it gets turned around everyday and doesn't sit in the tank long but the Filthy Wheel at Milton is expensive as crap for fuel.

Ever since I got my truck I've been wondering if there are any noticeable differences in the diesel here.

I thought it was in my head, but I could swear that the Husky Diesel (Courtney Park and Kennedy) makes my truck lag a bit more compared to the Sunoco and Shell Diesel.

I'm partial to Shell due to the air miles, but at the end of the day the best quality fuel is my main concern. Next time I'm out towards Milton we'll see what's doin' in that direction.

I've always thought that in my area (Dixie & 401) the diesel should be pretty good quality since there is so much trucking around. At the very least it won't sit long.

Prices seem to be some of the lowest in the city.

As far as additives, I stopped using Power Service since the general consensus seems to be that it's not much more than paint thinner, but I did notice a slight improvement in mileage.

I did the 2 stroke oil for a couple tanks (PWC from Walmart) but I guess it didn't sit right with me since I stopped using it. No improvement in mileage...if anything it went down marginally.

Found a deal on a case of Stanadyne which I'll be picking up tomorrow. Have heard very good things about it.

You find it's worth it, I mean like i was saying earlier I pay about 3 to 4 cents more in Mississauga then I do in Milton. I use shell for my Gas truck and have allot more air miles. With Sunoco I can get free stuff too but only car washes and the likes. Since its only 5 to 10 mins down the road from me I go to Sunoco and get Gold for the price of Regular diesel

I've heard that the Cardlocks and Truck stops charge less then the small stations.

You should try paint thinner in the truck and see what it does to it and report back to us.

Dave.
