Where the **** would I get a 4cyl cummins?
??? Anyone know where I can get a 4cyl cummins?? And I guess I would need a tranny too... It would be mated to a dana 300 transfer case if thats possible ![]() If I cannot get a 6cyl I will settle for a 4 in a jeep cj/yj or something. I would like to know price and where I can get one in Ontario or near Ontario (great lakes area) I am in no rush I am just wondering where I can get one... The guy at Cambridge Cummins/Mack had no idea what I was talking about..... Thanks for any input Michael

I am not sure about where you are at but did you try craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, events, forums just yesterday I found one in the houston section maybe you can arrange some shipping or something

While the 6 B series will make some decent hp with little effort, it is a very poor fit in a Jeep and way too heavy to be practical. If you are still set on the 6 cylinder, I know where there is a 5.9 ISB but it doesn't have a VP on it and I would imagine you would be looking for a 12V BTA anyway, right? If you are looking for a used 4 BTA (3.9), they came in all sorts of applications from various tractors to stationary generators to Frito Lay trucks. If you are looking for a new 3.3 CTD, I would suggest that you call Cummins East in Mississauga for a dealer that sells industrial 4 cyl engines. That said, I hope you don't care if your Jeep is a touch on the slow side.....because it certainly won't be very quick with either the 3.9 or 3.3.

The guy at the mack dealer when I went there the one time told me I would be looking at 10 000 for a 4cyl motor... I will try scott at jmw 4x4 but it looks like a diesel truck is a better option

Not really if you want something different like your talking about...you just have to know where to look. I got my engine thru JMW as well as all the other drive train. Tell him I sent you...Ryan with the big GMC/Cummins pull truck....spent 10's of thousands there in the last few years!!!!! Ryan |

I am kind of leaning toward a Dodge Cummins cause its already built. Its less headache and I can get something out of it... A truck that I can use every day... If I buy a jeep and put some money into it I would just use it to go to gopher dunes (mud bogging) and some other places like one in Sault Ste Marie.... I only have enough for one and I think I would rather have a Dodge Cummins. But I will call scott and ball park how much I would be looking at for a jeep project.
