Go to google and type in "site:craigslist.org XXXXX" and it will search cragislist nation wide for what you are after. A lot of box trucks, eg. wonder bread trucks, had 4bt in them.

Try Used heavy duty truck parts wholesaler, exporter and cores They have cummins 3.9 bolted to a what looks like a TH400 to me. They say that they run good. The combo is about 3000. Cores4u.com have just the engine that needs to be rebuilt for $1300. Finding a 3.9 is tough because they just run forever with no problems, so that makes finding a 3.9 for cheap even harder.
