this can't be and in my experience isn't true. my car (srt4) comes from factory without a muffler but with a cat, i had 2 tickets for loud exhaust and both times the officer stated in court it was because i had no muffler.... the owners manual states that it does not need one as the turbo counts as one. both times when i brought this up in court the ticket was thrown out....

Greezy - You are correct depending on state or province. Texas for example, turbo is all that is needed (man I love TX!).

Ontario, I am not sure. Thought it was needed.

the dyno was broke waaay before that i know i was there @ 9am and the Ford was the first one the rollers & the last one off But Chris hooked us up on the next dyno run

Ive had my cat out for 3 years, and my muffler is usually only in for the winter. Worst case scenario : You get a ticket, which is unlikely enough; Unless the cop is a huge prick it will be a fix it warning. Fight the ticket, get a court date and get a hold of an invoice stating you had a muffler installed. Done. Might be a few hours of wasted time but these things just sound too damn good straight piped!
